South Carolina

Margo has now been on nineteen different airplanes. That includes each leg of a flight, so say we were going to Sacramento but stopped in Denver: two planes.

Even if you don’t count each leg, she’s been on eleven flights, back and forth. Five roundtrips, with an extra three-city tour thrown in to the middle. A third of her life so far has been spent elsewhere, visiting family on the other side of the country.

We love being able to spend time with loved ones, and for them to be able to watch Margo grow, as she is doing so quickly these days.

But for the next few months (at least until August, when there is a very special birthday party we must attend) I will relish being home, finding and keeping a rhythm, enjoying the new people in our house and the changing seasons in the city that I love.

One day, maybe we will be closer to family and seeing them will be less of an…interruption. But for this coming season, my favorite of them all, we will enjoy just being home.
